June 21: A DC-3 Dakota operated by German historic aviation company Air Service Berlin crashed at Berlin’s Schonefeld Airport on Saturday, with seven occupants receiving “minor injuries” according to press reports from the 28 passengers and crew on board.

The aircraft is an ex-RAF example (KN442) and was operated by Air Atlantique for many years as G-AMPZ. Air Berlin Services operated sight-seeing flights with the aircraft, painted as the ‘Rosinenbomber’ (Raisin Bomber) to represent aircraft of the Berlin Air Lift of 1947.

The aircraft came to rest in an area of shrubland near the construction site of the new Berlin Brandenburg Airport, sustaining severe damage. It is not known if it is repairable.
