Hawker Hurricane MkXIIa 5711/G-HURI is available for purchase.

January 30: Hawker Hurricane MkXIIa 5711/G-HURI, currently owned and operated by the Historic Aircraft Collection (HAC) at Duxford airfield in the UK, is up for sale with US-based Platinum Fighter Sales.

G-HURI was built in 1942 in Canada and served with the Royal Canadian Air Force as 5711 from 1943 until 1947. Restoration in the UK followed from 1985 with the aircraft making its first flight in 1989. HAC purchased G-HURI in 2002, painting in the markings of ‘Z5140’ with the company initials as the squadron code.

With an asking price of £1.75 million, the advert suggests a sale could be done “ready for the UK airshow season”, indicating a UK buyer is being sought.
